Council is chasing up company about shops overgrown grass (Amberley Slope + Storrington Way)

After local LIB DEM ward councillors Julia Davidson and Darren Fower raised the issue of the grass areas located adjacent to the shops on Amberley Slope and Storrington Way being overgrown (AGAIN) and unsightly, the City Council has now taken action to get the private company who own the land to show some responsibility.

Commenting, Cllr Fower said:

“Its seems that the land is actually owned by Deengate Property Services, who I understand are based in London? I am also aware that this site secured planning permission a few years ago in reference to the building of new flats…… so there’s definitely something not quite right with this land.

“That said, whatever happens in the future, right now there are still shops, flats and services here and therefore, the land owners should ensure that the land is in keeping with the rest of the area and not let it become unsightly!”

According to Darren a letter has now been sent to the company from Peterborough City Council which hopefully will see them take action. Darren has also asked about the option of enforcement action and is awaiting a response from council officers on this.
