Councillor Darren Fower would like to offer a BIG thank you to all those who chipped in and supported his Grand Challenge, on behalf of Peterborough based charity Spina Bifida * Hydrocephalus * Information * Networking * Equality – SHINE.
Alongside top British para-badminton star player Gobi Ranganathan, the pair decided to take part in the Great Eastern 5K fun run and set themselves – what some considered to be – a rather ambitious target of £1000. Visit: www.justgiving.com/DarrenandGobi
Commenting, Darren said:
“Last year I managed to raise just over £700 and to be fair if I achieved that amount this year I would have been over the moon, but teaming up with someone like Gobi really helps you set your sights higher and thankfully there are still plenty of kind-hearted people in and around this area who gave a variety of donations.”
Shine is a registered charity, which was formed in 1966, initially to help families and individuals affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
